Turkish Paying Agency ARDSI visits ARMA

From May 18-20, 2026, the Agriculture Restructuring and Modernization Agency hosted representatives of the Turkish Rural Development and Support Institution (ARDSI) at its headquarters. The Polish-Turkish meeting provided another opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions, enabling the exchange of experiences in implementing EU aid programs and managing public support in the agricultural sector. ARMA and ARDSI have been consistently building relations for eleven years. In 2025, the presidents of both paying agencies – Wojciech Legawiec and Ahmet Abdullah Antalyali – signed a cooperation agreement.

During their three-day visit to Warsaw, Turkish officials benefited from the knowledge provided by ARMA experts. Our employees shared their experiences related to, among other things, providing support to those affected by weather anomalies, financing infrastructure investments in rural areas, auditing beneficiaries, and providing assistance to local social organizations. During their stay, ARDSI representatives also visited the Grójec district to meet with a group of fruit producers operating in the area. There, they learned about its operations and financing, including the financing provided by the Agriculture Restructuring and Modernization Agency. The guests were very interested in learning about the group's founding and the current challenges its members face.

For Türkiye, as an EU candidate country, Poland's experience in implementing pre-accession programs is very valuable. According to the European Commission, Poland implemented the SAPARD program most effectively among the candidate countries between 2002 and 2006, utilizing its budget above its originally planned amount.
