On 14 September, the Consulate's Literary Club welcomed Dr Bogumiła Żongołłowicz-writer, poet, and researcher-who introduced participants to the life and legacy of Zbigniew Jasiński, a soldier of the Polish Home Army (Armia Krajowa), journalist, poet, and participant in the Warsaw Uprising.

During the event, Dr Żongołłowicz read excerpts from her latest, as yet unpublished, book devoted to this remarkable figure, offering the audience a unique insight into both Jasiński's life and her ongoing research.

The guest of honour was Lech Gade, a veteran of the Warsaw Uprising and most likely one of the last surviving participants of the 1944 uprising living in Sydney. His presence added a particularly meaningful dimension to the meeting, providing attendees with a rare opportunity to honour and reflect on the experiences of those who fought for Poland's freedom.
