Papua New Guinea

Diplomatic relations between Poland and Australia were established on 10 February 1978.

In May 2014, the Consulate of the Republic of Poland in Madang was established, headed by the Honorary Consul, Fr. Jan Czuba. On 22 May 2018 Ambassador Michał Kołodziejski presented credentials to the Governor General of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea. A group of about 60 Polish missionaries and nuns carry out religious work in Papua New Guinea. Missionaries play an important role in supporting development aid projects implemented by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Canberra.
