A Recital of Chopin's Music by Professor Ewa Pobłocka

The concert at the Embassy of Poland in Canberra inaugurating the first annual Australian Chopin Festival took place on 28 September. The audience listened to an one-hour-long program of Poland’s greatest composer's works performed by Professor Ewa Pobłocka.

Professor Ewa Pobłocka is one of the world’s great Chopinists and a succesful teacher of classical music. in 1980 she was the winner of the fifth award of the 10th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. In 2021 she was one of the jurors of the 18th edition of the competition.  

The recital inaugurated the first annual Australian Chopin Festival (28 September - 2 October 2023) orgnised by the Friends of Chopin Australia Ltd. The event at the Embassy gathered 100 participants, mainly from the general Australian public. 

The program of the festival also inculdes masterclasses by prof. Pobłocka at the ANU School of Music, Interactive Live Tour of the Chopin Museum in Warsaw & Concert Recital by Aleksandra Świgut and the Grand Finale Concert by Ewa Pobłocka and David Pereira at the Hume Conservatorium in Goulburn, NSW.
