On 18 June, as part of the Literary Club initiative at the Consulate, a meeting was held with Teresa Podemska-Abt, who presented her work to the audience. The event marked the first open meeting of the Club, accessible to a wider public, and featured poetry, music, and reflections on the author’s creative output.
The evening was organised in cooperation with the Polish Australian Chamber of Commerce and the University of Łódź, and was dedicated to the work of the poet, writer, literary scholar, and editor, who has been active in Australia for over 40 years.
The meeting was chaired by Tomasz Cieślak, an academic from the University of Łódź who collaborates with the Literary Club.
Musical interpretation and performance of selected texts by Teresa Podemska-Abt were presented to the audience by Eliza Anna Falkiewicz, Elżbieta Chylewska, and Mirosław Gałczyński, who contributed to the artistic dimension of the evening.
In the near future, the Consulate plans to organise further open literary meetings. Information regarding participation will be published on the Consulate’s official Facebook page.
