Celebrations of the Polish Armed Forces Day and the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw

The Polish Armed Forces Day and the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw were celebrated on 10th of September in Nicosia.

The guest of honour was the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus Charalambos Petrides. Furthermore, upon the invitation of the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland Irena Lichnerowicz-Augustyn and the Polish Defence Attaché Colonel Zbigniew Rybka the event was attended by the Chief of National Guard Lt Gen Demokritos Zervakis, representatives of diplomatic corps, defence attachés residing in Cyprus and other senior officials from MoD, National Guard and UNFICYP.

Invited guests could visit the exhibition commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw prepared by the Polish Ministry of National Defence.

 Coverage of the celebration was broadcasted in the evening news of the Cypriot TV station ANT 1.
