Professor Jolanta Młynarczyk has been working in Cyprus continuously since 1973, when she became a member of the Polish Archaeological Mission of the University of Warsaw, conducting research in the city of Nea Paphos, which was the capital of Cyprus from the 3rd century BC until the 4th century AD. She is the author of many scientific articles devoted to various aspects of the culture and history of Cyprus. Between 2000-2018, she conducted lectures and seminars about Cyprus for students of the Institute of Archaeology of the University of Warsaw. She participated in many international congresses, presenting the results of her researches.

In 2000, as an experienced member of the Polish Archaeological Mission in Nea Paphos, professor Jolanta Młynarczyk was invited to participate as an expert in the research conducted by the New York University mission at Agios Georghios tis Peyias, in which she participates to date. Since 2017, she has also been carrying out excavation work in Paphos as part of a joint project with the University of Avignon, financed by the National Science Centre.

The achievements of Polish archaeologists who have been working in Cyprus continuously since 1965 are the most tangible example of Polish-Cypriot scientific cooperation. Their activities and effects of work are widely known in the Cypriot political, cultural and opinion-forming circles, and have a significant impact on the perception of Poland in Cyprus.

Orders of merits for Polish-Cypriot cooperation in the field of archaeology were recently also awarded to professor Ewdoksia Papuci-Władyka and dr. Łukasz Miszk from the Jagiellonian University, dr Henryk Meyza from the University of Warsaw as well as the representatives of the Department of Antiquities in Cyprus: dr. Marina Solomidou-Ieronymidou and dr. Eustathios Raptou.
