POLCYBER 2025: Third Edition of the Polish-Cypriot Business Forum on Defence and Cybersecurity

On 6 November, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Nicosia, in cooperation with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the PAIH Office in Athens, and the Polish-Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, organised the third edition of the Polish-Cypriot Cybersecurity Forum - POLCYBER 2025.
The event was attended by representatives of: the Cyprus Office of the Commissioner of Communications, the Board of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs, the Polish Ministry of National Defence, the Cypriot Ministry of Defence, and the Cypriot Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, as well as the presidents of the Polish-Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, the Polish-Greek Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Polish Aviation Valley, the Łukasiewicz Research Network, and representatives of centres of excellence and private companies from both countries.
The Forum focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of defence, cybersecurity, and advanced technologies, as well as developing business partnerships between institutions and enterprises from Poland and Cyprus.
Representatives of Polish companies presented services and solutions in the area of cybersecurity. During the B2B networking session, they had the opportunity to establish direct contacts with potential Cypriot business partners.
The event was opened by the Ambassador of Poland, Marek Szczepanowski, and the Cyprus Commissioner of Communications, George Michaelides. This was followed by a discussion panel devoted to defence, cybersecurity, and strategic cooperation with the participation of representatives of Polish and Cypriot state institutions, academia, and the business community, titled “Defence, Cybersecurity and Strategic Cooperation.”
Before the B2B session, presentations were delivered by institutions from the new technologies, cybersecurity, and defence sectors, including: the Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics (PL), Aviation Valley (PL), the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence (CY), and the Cyprus Association of Research and Innovation Enterprises CARIE (CY).
Later in the event, two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed: one between the Cyprus Defence Sector Cluster and the Polish Aviation Valley, and another between CARIE and the Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics. The meeting concluded with a B2B session during which concrete cooperation opportunities and potential business partnerships were discussed.
Interested Polish companies also took part in a study visit to Odyssey, a leading Cypriot cybersecurity company.
