The event brought together research institutions, embassies of EU member states, as well as student and school teams who showcased their scientific projects. The special guest of the event was the Minister of Education of the Republic of Cyprus, Athina Michaelidou.

The aim of the fair was to raise awareness about scientific achievements and to expand the knowledge of primary and secondary school students. Particular emphasis was placed on solutions that promote sustainable development—an issue of great importance, also from the perspective of EU policy.

This year, in connection with Poland’s presidency of the EU Council, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Nicosia invited special guests—Polish scientists from the Heweliusze Nauki team. Through engaging experiments, they introduced participants to the discoveries of Poland’s most renowned scientists: Nicolaus Copernicus, Marie Skłodowska-Curie, Wacław Sierpiński, Kazimierz Michałowski, and Jan Łukasiewicz.

Our booth attracted great interest from visitors of all ages—children and adults alike—offering inspiring science shows and interactive experiments.

As part of their visit to Cyprus, Heweliusze Nauki also prepared a special lesson for students of Polish schools. During the class, children not only learned about the achievements of Polish scientists but also had the chance to conduct scientific experiments themselves.
