Why is it worth it?
Educators create an on-site space for games and experimentation, for creative thinking and for finding constructive solutions. They teach teamwork and help discover the school's superpowers, i.e. the students' natural predispositions and talents. For some it will be ideas for automation, for others building a robot, for others learning the basics of programming. During the lessons, educators will develop an interest for skills that will allow students to use technology in a way that is compatible with the students' predispositions. Moving into virtual reality or shooting a film with a state-of-the-art camera are the dreams of many young people. Now - to make them come true - all they have to do is go to school.
They also create a space for teachers to develop, as educators work with equipment (such as 3D printers, robots or microcontrollers) that schools have recently purchased under a grant from the Future Labs project. Participation in the workshops is an opportunity for experimentation with technology and professional development. The educators of the Mobile Future Labs will offer concepts for educational modules to be repeated with students during lessons or further developed.
After the workshop with the educators, the children can continue the projects they have started, create new ones, and the teachers can use the techniques they have learned on the equipment they already have at school.
