Polish-Icelandic Business Forum "Made in Poland"
10.10.2025
On September 4th, 2025 representatives of Polish and Icelandic companies participated in the "Made in Poland" forum, organized by the Polish-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Reykjavik. The event was attended by Polish entrepreneurs operating in Iceland as well as Icelandic businessmen and company owners active in Poland. The initiative aimed, among other things, to establish and strengthen business contacts and cooperation.
The Polish-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce (Pólsk-Íslenska Viðskiptaráðið) was inaugurated on November 12, 2019, at the Polish Embassy in Reykjavik. Chamber’s activities include:
- organizing meetings and conferences on issues concerning both Iceland and Poland,
- arranging bilateral visits of business representatives from both countries,
- representing the trade-related interests of its members before the Polish and Icelandic authorities,
- providing information about business contacts, assisting in establishing them, and disseminating information related to conducting business in both countries.
The "Made in Poland" event was initiated by representatives of the Iceland Chamber of Commerce (ICC) office, which forms the core of 16 bilateral chambers in Iceland. It was part of a series of bilateral networking events (e.g. "Made in France") coordinated by the ICC. Representatives of the office emphasized that the Polish meeting attracted an unexpectedly high turnout thanks to the organizational cooperation of the Polish Embassy in Reykjavik, and the large number of Polish participants far exceeded expectations.
Nearly 50 company representatives registered for the event, including shop owners (e.g., general stores, clothing, furniture, cosmetics, arts, design, concept shops), restaurateurs, food product manufacturers, startup founders, and representatives of the creative industries (graphic designers, fashion designers, stylists, photographers, painters) and the media.
The event was inaugurated with a speech by the Head of the Mission, Aleksander Kropiwnicki, who welcomed the participants and emphasized that the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Reykjavík actively supports Polish-Icelandic business cooperation. The newly elected President of the Chamber, Ketill Magnússon, expressed his gratitude to the attendees for their presence and highlighted that such a strong representation of the business communities from both countries bodes well for the deepening of bilateral economic relations. The opening remarks were followed by a panel discussion and a networking session — which created a valuable opportunity for entrepreneurs to establish new connections, and exchange inspirations as well as know-how.
