What is IGF?

The IGF – Internet Governance Forum – is an international initiative of the United Nations, geared towards initiating and facilitating a global debate on the development of the Internet, as well as the current and emergent phenomena related to its functioning. Bringing together representatives of administration, academia, business, as well as non-governmental and technical organisations.

The substantive scope of this year’s edition of the IGF will be focused on the issues of trust, use of data, platform economy and the impact of technology on climate change. The 2020 IGF will be a place of open and real debate about the future of Internet platforms, as well as a number of other issues. The headline of this year’s Forum is “Internet United,” and with it comes a real innovation compared to the previous editions – the involvement of young Internet users in debates and decision-making.

On 2-6 November 2020, the entire international Internet community will be brought together to one place –one of Polish cities, Katowice. We are expecting thousands of guests, including ministers and heads of international organisations from around the world. Representatives of businesses, including the largest and best-known Internet companies from all continents, as well as non-governmental organisations, academia, technical groups, theoreticians and practitioners.

The 2020 IGF will be a place of open and real debate about the future of Internet platforms, as well as a host of other issues. We want the representatives of the Polish Internet industry to get involved in its organisation and its course.

During the 2020 IGF, everyone will have the right to express their opinion on the future of the Internet. You too can influence this debate!
