PolskaÉire Festival is back this year even stronger and more vibrant than ever! Celebrate Irish-Polish friendly relations with us - the craic will be dobry!

This year’s PolskaÉire Festival is organised simultaneously in Ireland and Poland with most events taking place online. After a year’s break due to the pandemic, the Festival will spread in a virtual form across the island of Ireland this year. It will involve local communities in many Irish and Polish cities, towns and villages! All this to promote integration and cultural exchange but, above all, to promote mutual friendly relations between the Irish and Polish people!

The jewel in the crown of this year’s festival is PolskaÉire Virtual Run 2021, organised in celebration of 30 years of the Polish Embassy in Dublin.

To take part, you can Run, Jog, Cycle or Walk 30km on a course and location of your choice, be it a treadmill, a racetrack, a beachfront, your local road etc. Participate anytime between 14th June and 31th July 2021. Each participant will receive a commemorative engraved medal and a unique t-shirt.

Other festival highlights include:  

5:20 pm Friday 2th July - Meet the new generation of young people combining their Polish and Irish identities and hear about their experiences on living across two homelands. Moderated by Ambassadors of Poland and Ireland: Anna Sochańska and Emer O’Connell.

6:20 pm Friday 2th July – Join the virtual bridge between Ireland and Poland and immerse yourself into the Polish folk from the heart of the Silesia region. The event hosted by Inisowiacy Polish Folk Group based in the West of Ireland.

7:30 pm Friday 2th July – Tune to PolskaÉire Fusion Band studio concert streamed live from Dublin featuring both Polish and Irish artists performing jointly in search for music inspired by both cultures.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

PolskaÉire Festival is a nationwide celebration of Irish-Polish friendly relations and cultural exchange. It was established in March 2015.  The aim of the festival is to further strengthen mutual relations between Polish and Irish communities by means of various cultural, sports, business, academic and community events.

It is co-organised annually by different national and local partners, both individuals and organisations, in Ireland and Poland.

This year's festival will be held largely online due to the COVID-19 pandemic on the Festival’s Facebook page facebook.com/PolskaEire.

 

This year’s festival is organised by Polish-Irish Educational Association and Black Shamrock - Association of the Friends of Ireland in Ruda Śląska,  thanks to the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dublin, the Embassy of Ireland in Warsaw and the City of Ruda Śląska.
