Constitution Day 2025

06.05.2025

On May 6, 2025, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tel Aviv and the Polish Institute in Tel Aviv hosted a festive evening to mark the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of May 3rd and Polish Armed Forces Day. The event took place at the Charles Bronfman Auditorium and Culture Center in Tel Aviv, one of the most prestigious music venues in Israel.

Guy Mintus Trio

The guests were welcomed by Ambassador Maciej Hunia, who emphasized both the historical and contemporary significance of the anniversary of the constitution's adoption — in Europe and globally.

Among the distinguished attendees were Israeli Minister of Education Yoav Kisch, ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps, as well as representatives from educational, artistic, and cultural circles.

The evening was highlighted by a concert by the trio of acclaimed Israeli pianist, composer, and vocalist Guy Mintus. The musicians performed jazz interpretations of “Reimagining Chopin”, a tribute to the legendary Polish composer Fryderyk Chopin. Guy Mintus is a recipient of the prestigious Leonard Bernstein Award and the Audience Award at the Montreux Jazz Festival. His work fuses classical virtuosity with jazz improvisation and the energy of world music and rock. He was joined on stage by Oren Hardy on double bass and Yonatan Rosen on drums — together delivering modern, unique, and emotionally charged renditions of Chopin’s music. The performance was met with an enthusiastic standing ovation from the audience, who applauded the trio’s virtuosity and vibrant energy.

A particularly moving moment was the presence of Colonel Stanisław Aronson, who celebrated his 100th birthday that evening. Known by his nom de guerre "Rysiek", he served as a second lieutenant in the Home Army, fought in the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, and was an officer in General Anders’ army. After World War II, he served as a lieutenant colonel in the Israel Defense Forces. Over the years, he has been actively involved in commemorating the efforts of Poles in rescuing Polish Jews and in preserving the memory of his fellow soldiers in the Kedyw unit of the Home Army. Upon receiving a bouquet from the ambassador, Mr. Aronson was honored with a deeply moving standing ovation, recognizing his life achievements and his role in fostering strong Polish-Israeli relations.
