New Consular Fees from January 1, 2026 - What is Changing?
22.12.2025
Starting January 1, 2026, a new schedule of consular fees will come into effect. The changes are introduced by the Regulation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs dated October 29, 2025, and will apply in all consular offices. As a result, the majority of fees will be raised by approximately 20-25%.
Why Are Fees Increasing?
Most of the current consular fees have remained unchanged for around 10 years, and some have not been updated since 2013. During this time, wages, inflation (especially in 2021–2023), and operational costs, including international shipping, have significantly increased.
As a result, the majority of fees will be raised by approximately 20–25%.
Higher Passport Fees
Significant changes concern temporary passports. From January 1, 2026, the following new fees will apply:
-
100 EUR – for issuing a temporary passport outside office hours,
-
200 EUR – for issuing a temporary passport on a non-working day.
These fees apply only to urgent cases. In such situations, no additional urgent processing fee will be charged, as urgency is already included in the service.
It is important to note that the date of application submission determines the applicable fee, not the date of document collection.
Changes in Visa Fees
Visa fees will also be updated:
-
200 EUR – for the acceptance and processing of a national visa application, including reprocessing.
