Polish-Israeli expert conference „Responding to Geopolitical Shifts and Emerging Threats: The Experiences of Poland and Israel”

30.10.2025

From 28 to 31 October, a group of experts from Poland representing various fields and analytical specialisations visited Israel at the invitation of the Embassy. The experts participated in a conference on security issues in the broadest sense, organised by the Embassy in cooperation with the leading Israeli think tank, the Institute for National Security Studies, which hosted the event.

Polish and Israeli experts participate in a panel discussion during a Polish-Israeli expert conference „Responding to Geopolitical Shifts and Emerging Threats: The Experiences of Poland and Israel”

The conference was opened by Ambassador Maciej Hunia and General (ret.) Tamir Hayman, Director of the INSS.
The first conference panel presented the Polish perspective on the security situation in Europe, focusing on Russia's destabilising role in our region and its destructive influence on the global order. The discussion focused on threats affecting both Poland and Israel relating to disinformation campaigns, and the negative consequences of cooperation between Russia and Iran.
The second panel addressed common and emerging strategic challenges in the Middle East and Europe. These include the development of new technologies, such as AI; the collaboration of authoritarian regimes worldwide to influence the global order; and the conditions for liberal democracies to function in this context.
The event was closed to the public and invitations were sent to a select group of diplomats accredited in Israel, Israeli administration representatives, and Israeli analysts, academics and journalists. Around 100 individuals attended the conference.
