On 23 May 2025, we celebrated the first European Day of Safe Travel Abroad, established by the Council of the European Union at the initiative of the Polish Presidency. #EUSafeTravelDay #SafeTravels #Poland25eu

The initiative of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union is addressed to all those planning safe and trouble-free travel abroad. To this end, EU Member States and European institutions will conduct annual media campaigns on safe travel by encouraging:

  • familiarising yourself with current travel information and warnings;
  • reporting foreign travel in dedicated systems;
  • buying travel insurance (requirment);
  • familiarising yourself with the scope of consular assistance offered by Member States abroad, including consular assistance for unrepresented EU citizens;
  • using the possibility of obtaining a temporary passport in emergency situations or an EU emergency travel document.
