Students - important changes regarding supporting documents - national visa (type D)
30.06.2025
From July 1, 2025, graduates of secondary schools operating in the Jordanian education system who apply for a national visa (type D) in order to undertake first-cycle studies or uniform master's studies in Poland are required to submit supplementary documents, which, pursuant to the Act of April 4, 2025 on amending certain acts in order to eliminate irregularities in the visa system of the Republic of Poland (Journal of Laws of 2025, item 622), were extended to include:
- Information from the Director of the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) confirming the qualifications to apply for admission to first-cycle studies or uniform master's studies in Poland issued at the request of the party (applicant). More information on obtaining information from the NAWA Director can be found on the agency's website: https://nawa.gov.pl/uznawalnosc/wydawać-informacji-o-zagranicznych-dyplomach/swiadectwo-szkoly-sredniej (PL) . https://nawa.gov.pl/en/recognition/how-to-obtain-a-recognition-statement/secondary-school-certificate (EN).
- A certificate or other document confirming knowledge of the language of instruction in Poland at a level not lower than B2. Formal requirements regarding the level of knowledge of the language of instruction (type of certificate and/or other document) should be verified, e.g. with universities.
The obligation to submit information to the NAWA Director does not apply to persons at whose request, before 1 July 2025, Polish Education Boards initiated proceedings to issue an administrative decision on the recognition of Jordanian documents confirming secondary education. Decisions of Education Boards issued before 1 July 2025 or after the completion of proceedings initiated before that date maintain legal force in the visa process.
Graduates who completed secondary schools in educational systems other than the Jordanian one are obliged to verify the admissibility of documents confirming their eligibility to apply for admission to first-cycle or uniform master's degree studies on the website of the National Agency for Academic Exchange: https://nawa.gov.pl/uznawalnosc/kontynuacja-nauki-w-polsce/studia-i-stopnia-lub-studia-jednolite (PL) / https://nawa.gov.pl/en/recognition/recognition-for-academic-purposes/applying-for-admission-to-first-long-cycle-studies (EN) and https://kwalifikator.nawa.gov.pl/ .
Obtaining supporting documents should take place before submitting an application for a national visa.
The Embassy of the republic of Poland in Amman does not mediate in obtaining documents required in the visa procedure.
