Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Marcin Kubiak visits Mogadishu

On 1-2 September 2026, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Marcin Kubiak visited Mogadishu to participate in the National Internal Security Conference, organised by Somalia's Ministry of Internal Security, and hold talks on the current situation in Somalia.
The programme included meetings with Raisedon Zenenga, Officer-in-Charge of the United Nations Transitional Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS); US Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Justin Davis; and EU Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Karin Gatt-Rutter.
He also met with Brigadier General Mohamed Moham’ud Mohamed, Senior Assistant to the Federal Police Commissioner, and Dr Abdikarim Mohaidin Ahmed, Rector of SIMAD University.
Discussions focused on the security situation, political dialogue and the electoral process, as well as international engagement in Somalia, including changes in United Nations operations.
The programme also included a meeting with Polish nationals working in Somalia.
