Final ceremony of the 4th LampART Short Film Festival in Mombasa

On April 17th, the finale of the 4th LampART Short Film Festival, co-organized by the Polish Embassy in Nairobi in cooperation with the Mombasa University of Technology, took place at the Alliance Française in Mombasa.
During the event, the best films submitted to the festival competition were presented, and awards and distinctions were presented in four categories: feature film, documentary, experimental film, and best picture. The festival jury included Professor Aleksandra Łukaszewicz from the Polish Aesthetic Society, Dr. Michał Sosna from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, and Dr. Andrzej Cichocki from the University of Silesia, as well as filmmakers and film scholars from the Kenyan coastal region.
The screening of the competition films was preceded by a screening of animations made by students from the Academy of Art in Szczecin and two short films created at the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School at the University of Silesia, including the short film "Dad’s Not Home," directed by Jan Saczek, which won the 2025 Student Academy Award.
In the week preceding the festival finale, film workshops for students and young filmmakers from the Kenyan coast were held at the Mombasa University of Technology, led by Dr. Michał Sosna and Dr. Andrzej Cichocki.
