A resolution of the House.“The Sejm of the Republic of Poland condemns the provocative and untrue statements by representatives of the highest authorities of the Russian Federation attempting to hold Poland liable for the Second World War. A nation’s greatness and international relations may not be built upon lies and by falsifying history,” reads the resolution adopted by acclamation on January 9, 2020. With this resolution, the deputies opposed to Russian politicians spinning the truth and falsifying history in order to discredit Poland and deteriorate Polish-Russian relations.

13.01.2020Inauguration of the Honorary Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in MadagascarOn January 13, 2020, Ambassador of Poland in Nairobi, Mr. Jacek Bazański, officially re-opened the Honorary Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Madagascar in the elevated class, by decision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland. The ceremony was attended by the Consul of the Republic of Poland in Nairobi, Mrs. Anna Bazańska, members of the Polish diaspora, representatives of the Malagasy administration and local media.

01.09.201980th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World WarEighty years ago, German aggression on Poland started the Second World War. In the early hours of 1 September 1939, troops of the German Reich crossed the Polish-German border. Polish Army put up military resistance and expected the Allies’ reaction. On 3 September 1939, France and the UK declared war on the German Reich but did not take any real military action. Poland’s tragic fate was sealed on 17 September 1939 when the Soviet Union launched the invasion of Poland from the East. The attack of the German Reich and the Soviet Union resulted from the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact signed by the two totalitarian regimes, a secret protocol to which effectively divided Central Europe into the so-called spheres of influence.
