Poland in Kenya

Seventy five years after the end of the Second World War, we pay tribute to its victims. We remember the indomitable struggle of the Polish nation against Nazi Germany throughout the conflict in Europe, lasting from September 1939 to May 1945.

We are pleased to inform that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland has launched a new platform called "Anti-COVID offer by Polish business" that presents actual information on products and solutions offered by Polish entrepreneurs and scientists that may be helpful in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Adopted on 3 May 1791 in Warsaw by the Sejm of the Polish Republic (later known as the Great Sejm), the Polish Constitution was Europe’s first and the world’s second modern constitution.

We kindly inform you that on Friday, May 1, 2020 and Monday, May 25, 2020, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Nairobi and its Consular Section will be closed due to public holidays observed in Kenya and in Poland, the Labour Day and the Eid al-Fitr.

On 10 April 2010, a special TU-154M plane with the President of Poland Lech Kaczyński and the First Lady Maria Kaczyńska on board took off from Warsaw to Smolensk. On that very day the members of the official delegation were to participate in the ceremonies taking place in the Katyn War Cemetery, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the crime committed there. The aircraft carried 96 people, including members of the highest state authorities, representatives of various social circles and religious denominations, high-ranking military commanders and the plane’s crew. All the flight passengers died in the air disaster which took place during landing at the airport near Smolensk.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Nairobi informs that due to the spread of coronavirus, its Consular Section will remain closed from Monday, March 30, 2020, until further notice. In emergency cases, please write an e-mail at: nairobi.amb.wk@ msz.gov.pl. Please also be informed that in connection with the travel restrictions imposed by the Government of Poland, the issuance of visas has been temporarily suspended. Please note that the collection of issued visa decisions and legalized documents that were submitted before March 25, 2020 will be possible onTuesday, April 7, 2020, from 10am to 12am.

The Government of Poland announced on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, that it had extended the control of all people crossing Poland's borders to April 13, 2020. The entry of foreigners into the country will be banned until April 11, 2020. Only Poles wishing to return home, their spouses and children, holders of Karta Polaka, diplomats and persons with the right of permanent or temporary residence in the Republic of Poland or holders of a valid work permit will be allowed to enter the country. The decision immediately came into effect.

In view of the spread of coronavirus and closing of Polish borders, the Embassy of Poland in Nairobi has decided to introduce some changes in functioning of its Consular Section.

Polish government has taken another actions in combating coronavirus. The new rules apply from Sunday, March 15., 2020.
