The event was opened by Ewa Ossowska, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Mahé, Marcin Kubiak, Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of Poland in Nairobi, Olivier Bastienne, Chairman of the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), and Alain De Comarmond, Secretary of State for Fisheries and Blue Economy.

During his speech, Chargé d’affaires Kubiak emphasized that the Forum, organized on the 50th anniversary of Seychelles' independence, reflects the importance Poland attaches to cooperation with the Indian Ocean region, recognizing its importance for geopolitical stability and security, as well as the business opportunities it offers in numerous sectors – not only in tourism, but also in finance, banking, e-commerce, transport and logistics, defence and cybersecurity, green energy, blue economy, and food processing. Events such as the Forum serve to build new partnerships in a volatile and unstable geopolitical context.

In the Forum's seminar session, representatives of the Polish Embassy, the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the EU Delegation discussed the legal and institutional context of economic cooperation between Poland, the Seychelles, and other countries in the Indian Ocean region. The Forum concluded with presentations by Polish companies representing the IT, energy, construction, and food sectors, as well as a networking session.

The event was attended by approximately 70 participants, including representatives of the Seychelles government and administration, the diplomatic corps, Polish and Seychellois business and the local press.
