Polish-Kenyan consultations on UN matters

On 20 April 2026 Chargé d'affaires a.i. Marcin Kubiak, together with Krzysztof Szczerski Permanent Representative of the Republic of Poland to the United Nations in New York, held a meeting with Ambassador Njambi Kinyungu, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Multilateral Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora of the Republic of Kenya.
The consultations in Nairobi were organised on the eve of the meeting of the Governing Board of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) on 21–22 April 2026, in which Ambassador Krzysztof Szczerski is participating as a facilitator on behalf of Poland of the political declaration for the Review of the New Urban Agenda. The meeting served for the discussion on the Polish and Kenyan positions regarding current issues on the UN agenda in New York, including the potential implications of the UN80 initiative for the UN headquarters in Nairobi.
The meeting was attended by, amongst others, the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kenya to UN-HABITAT, Ambassador Beatrice Karago; Deputy Director Michael Mwiti Miriti; Kenyan diplomats from the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kenya to UNEP; and, on behalf of the mission, Deputy Head of Mission M. Moryksiewicz
