Summary of project "Hybrid BIO_GEO-GRAPHIES by Jakub Barua”

This December, two events took place in Nairobi as part of the cultural project "Hybrid BIO_GEO-GRAPHIES by Jakub Barua” supported by the Embassy of Poland and dedicated to the filmmaking of this Polish-Kenyan director.
First, the audience, primarily students of Kenyatta University, had the opportunity to experience Jakub Barua's rarely available films during a retrospective held at International Language and Cultural Centre on the Kenyan University campus on December 4th. The screening was preceded by an introduction by Professor Karina Sadowska-Banaszkiewicz, who organized the retrospective.
On December 10th, the National Museum of Kenya hosted the opening of "Virtual Film Memorial: Hybrid BIO_GEO-GRAPHIES by Jakub Barua" a unique work by Professor Aleksandra Łukaszewicz based on Jakub Barua's work. The public could view the memorial in a specially designed space and through VR goggles.
