On 1 October, a signing ceremony for a tied aid credit agreement between Poland and Kenya took place at the National Treasury in Nairobi. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Government of Poland by Undersecretary of State Wojciech Zajączkowski and, on behalf of the Government of Kenya, by Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury John Mbadi Ng'ongo.

Tied Aid Credit Agreement signed with Kenya

The agreement provides for a USD 82 million loan to Kenya to finance an agricultural modernisation project, primarily in the dairy sector, with the participation of Polish agribusiness companies. The loan represents a continuation of previous credit cooperation between the two countries, under which dairy equipment worth over USD 20 million was delivered to Kenya between 2017 and 2020.

The resumption of intergovernmental tied aid credit cooperation with Kenya is expected to contribute to the promotion of Polish exports on the Kenyan market and to improving the productivity and efficiency of Kenyan agriculture.

The project complies with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) regulations on tied aid.
