Children's Day in Lebanon

06.06.2026

One of the activities during Children’s Day.

The Consular Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Beirut organized an event on June 6 to celebrate Children's Day for the Polish diaspora community in Lebanon. The meeting took place on the grounds of the prestigious school College Notre-Dame de Jamhour, run by the Jesuits. The director of this one of the country's most important educational institutions is Father Marek Cieślik, who has been actively involved in the life of the Polish diaspora for years and once again provided the space for organizing the event.

The ceremonies began with Holy Mass in Polish, which gathered a record number of participants and was an important element integrating the local community. After the official part, a family picnic took place, attracting very high attendance among the Polish diaspora.

For children, youth, and their caregivers, numerous attractions were prepared, including sports games and activities that encouraged active time spent. A military obstacle course was particularly popular, providing participants with many emotions and positive rivalry. Prizes were reserved for the best performers, while all children received small gifts.

The event was accompanied by a joyful and family atmosphere, and the large number of participants confirmed the great importance of such initiatives for maintaining bonds within the Polish diaspora. The meeting was also an opportunity for intergenerational integration and strengthening the sense of community, and – in line with the tradition of previous editions – included educational and pro-social elements.
