The Embassy of Poland in Beirut celebrates Christmas with the Polish diaspora in Lebanon. This year’s event took place on December 8th and gathered several Polish familes with children.

The kids were welcomed by Santa and the crowd enthustiastically perfomed traditional Polish carols.

The widespread adminiration for carols isn’t something new or recent, but rather a continuation of tradition that begun hundreds of years ago.Carols first came to Poland in Middle Ages as a religous hymns sung in Latin or Czech. These seasonal songs became massively populat in the 17th century, and according to records about 700 were written then. All in all, the number today goes into the thousands and some claim that no other country has as many carols as Poland (source: Culture.pl)
