Easing entry for Polish pharmaceutical companies into Lebanon
14.05.2026
The Ministry of Public Health of Lebanon has authorised the necessary certifications for the Polish medical sector. The Embassy in Beirut celebrated this great news with an informal lunch for representatives of the Ministry of Health and leading companies from the Lebanese pharmaceutical sector where we discussed further cooperation
We are pleased to announce that in the first quarter of this year, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Beirut - thanks to cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Lebanon - obtained the necessary certifications for the Polish pharmaceutical sector. As a result of consultations between the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Beirut, Dr. Aleksandra Bukowska McCabe, and the Minister of Health, Dr. Rakan Nasereddin, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health approved Polish currency as an official means of transaction in the medical trade. This was the missing condition necessary for further certification of Polish products and their introduction to the Lebanese market.
To celebrate this milestone for the Polish pharmaceutical sector, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Beirut organized a lunch for representatives of the Ministry of Health of Lebanon and companies from the Lebanese pharmaceutical sector.
The aim of the meeting was to highlight this important achievement of the next stage in bilateral cooperation which will facilitate the import of Polish pharmaceutical products to Lebanon. During the meeting, activities related to the next step of facilitating the import process (designation of PL as a reference country) and the path of establishing cooperation between the Polish and Lebanese pharmaceutical sectors were also discussed.
Lebanon's pharmaceutical sector was represented by leading companies including Pharmaline, Meditech, Iyamed and Drougerie Phenicia. These companies produce and distribute pharmaceutical products not only in Lebanon but across the region, cooperate with several European countries and are looking to distribute Polish pharmaceutical products in the MENA and GCC regions. The Embassy is now working on taking further steps to bring together representatives of the Polish and Lebanese pharmaceutical sectors.
Polish companies interested in exporting products to the Lebanese market are encouraged to contact our embassy.
