GLOW Center Reopening Ceremony in Beirut

15.11.2025

On the 15th of November the Polish Embassy joined the reopening ceremony of the newly reconstructed GLOW Center, which provides vital training and support services, rebuilt thanks to co-financing from Poland.

The centre was destroyed in the autumn of 2024 when Israeli shelling hit a neighbouring building, leading to extensive damage that rendered the facility inoperable. Co-financing from Polish development aid funds provided by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs enabled the centre to be rebuilt with the work being coordinated by Polish Humanitarian Action and International Humanitarian Relief.

The GLOW Center will now, once again, be able to provide personal development assistance, particularly for women, refugees, and the most marginalized communities,  while serving as a meeting point for representatives of Beirut's various faiths and religious groups. Activities at the centre will include workshops on computer use, 3D printing, crocheting, photography, starting your own business, self-promotion methods, and professional CV writing, all aimed at helping these individuals effectively navigate the local job market.

The opening was warmly received by the local community, which will be the beneficiaries of the centre's services. Representatives of Polish Humanitarian Action, who travelled specially from Poland, also attended the ceremony and, along with the Polish Embassy in Beirut, were recognised for their ongoing support and assistance in the reconstruction efforts.
