The Polish Embassy in cooperation with the Military Attaché in Beirut co-hosted a celebration to mark Poland's Independence Day.

During the official part of the event, Polish Ambassador Aleksandra Bukowska-McCabe and Attaché Lieutenant Colonel Paweł Pochwatka addressed the multi-generational struggle that resulted in Poland regaining its sovereignty. They also emphasized the value of independence for every country, referencing the changes taking place in Lebanon and highlighting the role of the military in ensuring sovereignty.

The event was well attended by military attachés, representatives of the Lebanese armed forces and the security sector, among others. The commander of the Polish Military Contingent of UNIFIL and an honorary military escort along with representatives of the Polish soldiers of UNIFIL joined the celebrations. Guests were also able to view a special exhibition on Polish refugees who were in Lebanon during the second world war.
