On September 25 of this year, at Camp Shamrock base in southern Lebanon, a ceremonial Medal Parade took place. The event was the culmination of the efforts of the 11th rotation of the Polish Military Contingent, whose soldiers were awarded United Nations Medals in recognition of their contribution to the UNIFIL peacekeeping mission. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Beirut and the Defense Attache in Beirut, as well as UN battalion commanders and representatives of local authorities.

The medals, conferred on behalf of the UN Secretary-General, were presented by the UNIFIL Sector West Commander, Brigadier General David COLUSSI. The United Nations Medal is an international decoration awarded to soldiers and officials participating in peacekeeping, humanitarian, or other operations under the auspices of the United Nations. Each mission has a unique ribbon and medal design, although the medal itself bears the common emblem of the organization.

In addition, on this occasion, the Commander of the Polish Military Contingent in UNIFIL, Lieutenant Colonel Robert SAŁAGAN, personally distinguished Vice Consul Jakub DZIEWULSKI with the UNIFIL Polish Contingent Commemorative Medal for his dedication and care for Polish soldiers participating in the mission.
