Meeting of the Diplomatic Corps with the President of Lebanon

On January 20th, 2026, the Office of the President of the Republic of Lebanon organized a meeting of the Diplomatic Corps with President Joseph Aoun. The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace and was attended by ambassadors of all countries and international organizations accredited in Lebanon.

The Apostolic Nuncio, P. Borgia, spoke on behalf of the diplomatic corps. President Aoun began his speech by noting that the meeting with the Diplomatic Corps comes at a crucial time, one year after his assumption of office as the President of the Republic. After addressing the current political and regional situation, the President indicated his intention to rebuild the Lebanon's position internationally.

This was the first meeting between the President of Lebanon and the Diplomatic Corps in many years.
