Meeting under the patronage of the First Lady on the State Strategy for Women

On the October 8th, the Polish Ambassador in Beirut participated in a meeting organized under the patronage of First Lady N. Aoun by the Lebanese Council for Women on the National Strategy for Women.
Representatives of UN agencies present in Lebanon (UN Women, UNDP, UNICEF, UNHCR, OCHA, and others) and heads of selected diplomatic missions were invited to the discussion. During the meeting, the composition of the Women's Council was introduced, as well as the Strategy's assumptions. It will focus on issues related to women's professional activation, opportunities for increasing their participation in social and political life, the implementation of social support for women and children, as well as protection from violence, both physical and economic. Attention was also drawn to the increasingly prevalent issue of cyber threats.
The Polish Ambassador in Beirut provided information on activities undertaken in Poland by relevant institutions, social programs, and the implementation of equal opportunities policies. The activities of the Polish Embassy in the context of Polish aid projects were also discussed.
