Meeting with the Governor of Beirut H.E. Marwan Abboud

On September 29th, 2025, a meeting was held between the Polish Ambassador to Lebanon and the Governor of Beirut to discuss future cooperation in the promotion of Polish culture and shared history in Lebanon, including commemoration of the Polish artist Karol Schayer.
During the meeting with the Governor of Beirut, H.E. Marwan Abboud, the Polish Embassy in Beirut was represented by the Polish Ambassador to Lebanon, Dr. Aleksandra Bukowska-McCabe, the Head of the Political and Economic Section, and the Consul of Poland. The purpose of the meeting was to gain support for two Polish cultural projects implemented by the Polish Embassy in cooperation with Lebanese partners.
The projects mentioned include:
- Commemorating the distinguished Polish architect Karol Schayer by installing a commemorative plaque on the Makdisi Building in Beirut – one of the buildings designed by Schayer and his colleagues. The Embassy requested the city's support in cleaning and renovating the sidewalk surrounding the building.
- Cooperation in organizing the IPN exhibition "Trails of Hope. Odyssey of Freedom." The Embassy requested the use of exhibition space. The Governor expressed his satisfaction with the initiative and his willingness to assist in organizing the event.
The meeting took place in a very friendly atmosphere and concluded with a declaration of further cooperation from the Beirut municipal authorities.
