Polish films The Peasants, directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, and Diplodocus, by Wojciech Wawszczyk, were screened in Beirut as part of the 29th European Film Festival, organized by the EU Delegation in cooperation with the Member States and the Lebanese association "The Metropolis Cinema".

The Peasants left the audience, which included artists and film lovers, with a lasting impression of the oil-painted adaptation of Władysław Reymont’s epic novel and delighted viewers with its visual layer, folk music and the universal message of the story.  Among the viewers were representatives of the world of culture and art, diplomacy and regular viewers of the Metropolis Cinema.

Younger cinema goers and families  followed with interest the adventures of Diplodocus, Wojciech Wawszczyk’s animated family tale  based on the cult comic book by Tadeusz Barański, where a dinosaur embarks on an adventure to save his parents.

Both films were well received and created a positive impression of Polish cinema among the Lebanese audience.
