Krzysztof Książek, Polish pianist and semi-finalist of the Chopin Competition, played at the Church of St. Maron in Beirut as part of the Beirut Chants festival and in cooperation with the Polish Embassy.

A semi-finalist and winner of two additional prizes in the 17th International Fryderyk Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 2015, Krzysztof Książek has received numerous awards and recognition for his performances of works by Fryderyk Chopin and Polish music. During the 5th December concert, the artist performed mazurkas and waltzes from the repertoire of Fryderyk Chopin, as well as Variations in A major by Ignacy Jan Paderewski, to a full house that received the performance with great acclaim and enthusiasm.

The performance was part of the 18th edition of the Beirut Chants festival, dedicated to classical and sacred music performed by Lebanese and international artists. The concerts take place in historic churches and on stages in Beirut, attracting large crowds of music lovers.

The Polish concert was preceded by a speech by Micheline Abi Samra, director and founder of the Beirut Chants festival, expressing her appreciation for hosting the talented Polish pianist, whose mastery of Chopin and the Polish repertoire has earned him international recognition. In her opening remarks, Polish Ambassador Aleksandra Bukowska-McCabe emphasized the festival's significant role in promoting classical music in Lebanon and the region and referred to the work of the most outstanding Polish composers and pianists, whose music is renowned worldwide.
