UNIFIL Force Commander and Head of Mission, Major General D. Abagnara, visits the Polish Military Contingent in Lebanon

On the initiative of the Polish Embassy in Lebanon, UNIFIL Force Commander & Head of Mission, Major General Diodato Abagnara, paid a visit to the Polish Military Contingent in southern Lebanon.
The meeting took place at UNP 6-50, which is the forward-most position manned by the contingent and directly on the so-called Blue Line. UNP 6-50 is one of the key locations occupied by UN forces in the western sector of their area of responsibility.
General Abagnara visited the post manned by approximately 30 Polish soldiers, with whom he held professional conversations. During the main part of the visit, in a smaller meeting attended by Defense Attaché Lt. Col. P. Pochwatka and PKW Commander Lt. Col. R. Sałagan, D. Abagnara presented his assessment of the situation and the future of the mission.
