On the May 15th the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Beirut visited the Chamber of Commerce of Tripoli and Northern Lebanon, as well as visited the municipal authorities of the municipality of El Minah.

During her visit to Tripoli on the 15th of May this year, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland together with representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Beirut had the opportunity to meet with representatives of the municipal authorities and the Chamber of Commerce. The visit began with a meeting with the President of the Municipality of El Minah, Mr. Abdullah Kabbara and a team of his advisors. During the meeting, the needs and development projects of the municipality were discussed, as well as Poland’s possible involvement. After the meeting in the town hall, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland together with the municipal authorities went on a field visit to the area of the old town of El Minah.

In the afternoon, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland visited the Chamber of Commerce of Tripoli and Northern Lebanon and held a meeting with the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Toufic Dabbousi. During the meeting, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce discussed the characteristics of the Northern Lebanon region, development projects in the region, as well as the economic potential of the city of Tripoli. Opportunities to strengthen and develop economic cooperation between Poland and Lebanon, for the benefit of the northern regions of the country, as well as the strongest sectors of potential cooperation, were discussed.

In the afternoon, together with the Chairman of the Train Train organization, the Embassy delegation visited the historic surroundings of the former railway station, looking for traces of Lebanon’s former railway. The aim of the meeting and talks was to look for ways to commemorate the presence of Polish SU-45 locomotives on Lebanese soil.
