E5 Group ministers on strengthening defensive capabilities

On Thursday, 11 December, Ministry of National Defence secretary of state Paweł Zalewski represented the deputy prime minister - minister of national defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a teleconference of the European Group of 5 Defence Ministers (E5), with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the Commissioner for Defence and Space also participating.

On Thursday, 11 December, Ministry of National Defence secretary of state Paweł Zalewski represented the deputy prime minister – minister of national defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a teleconference of the European Group of 5 Defence Ministers (E5), with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the Commissioner for Defence and Space also participating.

The meeting was primarily focused on matters of continued involvement of the E5 countries in strengthening European defence capabilities. New challenges ahead of Europe in light of shifting trends were discussed, noting the need for the European countries to take more responsibility for the security of the continent.

The ministers have also confirmed unwavering commitment to helping Ukraine, which is our shared priority. The next E5 meeting is planned to take place in Poland in January 2026.
