– Service of Alliance soldiers, among others here in Latvia is a proof that the groundbreaking decisions taken at the NATO Summit in Warsaw are being implemented, and that Europe and the world may feel safe, because the North Atlantic Alliance is ready to provide defense – said Mariusz Błaszczak, the Minister of National Defense during the meeting with soldiers serving in Latvia.

– PESCO is to complement the defense capabilities created by NATO. It is important to us that the opportunities created by the European Union are used for common security – said Mariusz Błaszczak, the Minister of National Defense in Luxembourg.

- We are grateful that British troops are stationed in Poland, that we can train together, that our troops improve their skills, and thanks to that, the defense potential increases - said Mariusz Błaszczak, Minister of National Defense after talks with Gavin Williamson British defense minister.

Tomasz Szatkowski, undersecretary of state in the Ministry of National Defense, held talks with the Director of the US Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Lieutenant General Samuel A. Greaves and with Lieutenant General Todd T. Semonite, Commander of the US Army Corps of Engineers.

Current issues of Polish-American cooperation in the field of security and defense were the main topic of the conversation between Tomasz Szatkowski, undersecretary of state in the Ministry of National Defense and the deputy commander of the US Army in Europe Major General Timothy McGuire.

- Today we meet as part of the Northern Group, but we are talking about cooperation on a pan-European scale, on the coordination of our activities. Today's meeting outcome is the decision that our joint response to what is happening behind the Polish eastern border will be the coordination of exercises between the Northern Group states - said Minister Mariusz Blaszczak in The Hague.

- We are pleased that the initiative under the name 4 x 30 to improve the armed forces' readiness takes on specific shapes. The talks were very constructive - summed up the first plenary session of NATO defense ministers in Brussels, Mariusz Błaszczak, Minister of National Defense.

Strengthening security efforts and the presence of allied troops on the eastern flank are the main topics discussed by Mariusz Błaszczak, the minister of national defense with Jens Stoltenberg, the NATO secretary general.

- Classic threats have not disappeared. To improve NATO deterrence and defense capabilities, a more efficient Alliance command structure is needed. We also need to create more detailed plans for defense - the defense minister Mariusz Blaszczak stressed at the meeting of the Defense and Security Committee of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Warsaw.

- Serving in Latvia, you show solidarity with our allies from NATO every day. The decisions taken at the NATO summit in Warsaw meant that we could feel safe in Poland, but also in Latvia, in the countries that make up NATO.
