- It is important for the Polish army to participate in the EU mission Sophia in the Mediterranean, it shows solidarity and helps to avert the conflict - said the head of the Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak during the farewell of the Polish Military Contingent EU SOPHIA.

Security in Poland and Europe and Polish-American cooperation was the main topic of the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of National Defense Tomasz Szatkowski and the US Secretary of the Army Dr. Mark T. Esper meeting in Warsaw on 31st January 2018.

- "We are expecting larger presence of US troops in Poland" - said the Head of the Ministry of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak in Washington DC.

The implementation of the NATO Summit decisions was the main topic of the Polish-Romanian consultations held on January 16. The Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Poland was represented by Undersecretary of State Mr Tomasz Szatkowski.

- It was a good conversation. I believe that our Allies appreciate our commitment and Poland's contribution to the system of common security - said Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak on Monday in Brussels.

On Tuesday, 9th January, Minister of National Defense Antoni Macierewicz handed over his duties of the Head of the Ministry of National Defense to Minister Mariusz Błaszczak.

On Tuesday, 2nd January at the 32nd Air Force Base in Łask a farewell ceremony was held to the troops of the 4th Rotation of the Polish Military Contingent in Kuwait.

“This is another meeting with concrete results - the initiation of new investment. These facilities are intended for the United States Air Force. Namely, Combat Aviation Brigade equipped with Apaches, and stationed here in Powidz"- said Mariusz Błaszczak, Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of National Defense during his visit to Powidz.

We are here with minister Guido Crosetto, a great friend of Poland. Minister Guido is also my personal friend in the group of ministers of defence of NATO and European Union countries. Our Polish-Italian alliance is the strongest it has ever been. It is thanks to the Italian Air Force that the operation on the night of September 9 and 10 this year - the operation of combating Russian drones - could succeed. The Italian Air Force, taking part in the Air Policing mission, had a hand in reconnaissance and sharing information. Without Italian planes, Italian pilots, it would have been impossible. I have thanked for it during today's meetings in the name of the Polish nation, all our soldiers and citizens of Poland - said the deputy prime minister W. Kosiniak-Kamysz after meeting the Italian minister of defence. The deputy prime minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz visited Rome on 7 November, where he has met with Guido Crosetto, minister of defence of Italy.
