Polish-Slovak Defence-Industrial Dialogue in Bratislava

03.03.2026

- The first forum and dialogue of the defence industry and the military, jointly organized here in Bratislava, consists of 30 companies and over a hundred participants. It is an important step, as for the last two years we have been intensely working on bringing these companies closer, so that both the public and private sector explored each other's capabilities and expertise. Today we have discussed several projects at the bilateral meeting, concerning both the supply of ammunition and the BORSUK and BAOBAB, the mine-laying vehicle - very important in the context of Poland's exit from the Ottawa Treaty. The cooperation in the anti-drone projects is also very important. We have devoted a large part of our meeting to them. Poland introduces the SAN system - multiple sensors, multiple effectors, reconnaissance, imagining, and then affecting targets, both electronic and especially kinetic, using multiple types of arms: machine guns and cannons presented in Poland - noted the Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the conference in Bratislava.

On March 3, in Bratislava, the Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, together with the Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Defence of Slovakia, Robert Kaliňák, took part in the Polish-Slovak Defence-Industrial Dialogue 2026. This event was first forum of understanding of this breadth between the representatives of governments and public and private companies from the defence sector of both countries.

The main goal of the meeting was to discuss the cooperation so far and point to promising avenues of manufacturing military equipment. The talks were a direct continuation of agreements reached in February 2025 in Warsaw, when Ministers of Defence of Poland and Slovakia signed a Letter of Intent regarding strengthening relations in the area of anti-air defences, ammunition manufacturing and armoured vehicles and wheeled armoured transport vehicles programmes.

- We have an enormous shared potential, we have things to move forward with together. The Polish-Slovak partnership makes great sense and I have believed in it from the very beginning. This is another one of my visits in Bratislava, the aim of which is to build the power of Polish and Slovak defence industries, as well as developing operational capabilities through joint exercises of our Armed Forces. Building independent defence industry capabilities is also crucial, especially in the face of conflicts all over the world that can result in disruptions of the global supply chain – said the Polish Minister of National Defence during a discussion panel.

During thematic panels, experts and defence industry companies’ representatives – including Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, WB Electronics (WB Group), APS and the Slovak DMG group and Konštrukta Defence – discussed concrete solutions for the Land Forces and unmanned and anti-drone systems.

- The matter of the PIORUN, serving as a very short-range layer of air defence. The matter of ROSOMAK or BORSUK, the ZSSW-30 turret – which are all very high-quality equipment. We have many identified projects, not at the beginning of the journey, but in a very advanced stage. We want at least one of them to be finished in the first half of this year. I think May will be a very good time to sign concrete agreements between companies. The government has already signed such contracts – we have signed one on 25 February last year – so now we are simply fulfilling it. Today’s meeting is fulfilling that contract. We are working together within the SAFE programme. I will once again stress how important it is for the President in Poland to accept this programme, as it opens not only the possibility to equip the Armed Forces quickly, but also to develop the defence industry – noted the Deputy Prime Minister W. Kosiniak-Kamysz.

The event, co-organized by the Defence24 portal and the Slovakian European Defence Analytics think tank, allowed an exchange of experiences in the context of the ongoing modernization of the Armed Forces of both countries. The meeting in Bratislava confirmed that strengthening industrial ties between Poland and Slovakia is a key element of building regional security within the eastern flank of NATO.
