Stanisław Wziątek, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense

Born on November 13th, 1959 in Połczyn-Zdrój. In 1988 he had earned his degree in defensive education at the Humanities Faculty of the School of Education in Bydgoszcz. He had also earned a postgraduate degree in organisation and leadership at the University of Warsaw in 1994 and local government finances oversight at the University of Wrocław in 1996. He worked, among others, as the director of a local cultural and community centre in Połczyn-Zdrój. Between 1994 and 2001 he was the mayor of Połczyn-Zdrój.

As the president and vice president of the Health-Resort Municipalities Association, Drawsko Lake District Municipalities Association or the Polish Municipalities of the Pomerania Euroregion Association he had endeavoured to bring together every group and community. Between the years 2001 and 2005 he was the voivode of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

In the 2005 – 2015 period he was a member of the Polish Sejm in its 5th, 6th and 7th term, when he was, among others, the deputy chairman of the Sejm committee on Administration and Internal Affairs as well as chairman of the Sejm committee on National Defense and the Sejm committee on Secret Services.

On November 23rd, 2018 he became a member of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship Sejmik. He is also a member of the Polish Voivodeships Association’s Committee on Science, Education and Sports.

Husband of Lidia and father of Dagmara. His personal interests include the maintenance of Polish hunting culture and traditions, music and literature, shooting sports and fighting sports.
