Equipment and Systems Testing Department (Z-1)

The tasks of the of Equipment and Systems Testing Department (Z-1) include:

  • Conducting work in the field of radio communication systems, methods for testing devices and systems and radio wave propagation,
  • Providing expert opinions in the field of telecommunications,
  • Performing technical tests of devices and systems, especially radio systems,
  • Offering consultations related to European directives: 2014/30/EU (EMC), 2014/35/EU (LVD), and 2014/53/EU (RED) regarding essential requirements for electronic, telecommunications, radio, and other devices,
  • Participating in standardization works related to radiocommunications.

The Equipment and Systems Testing Department offers assistance and participation in the conformity assessment process of devices, which includes:

  • Developing a testing program in accordance with essential requirements,
  • Indicating the standards that should be applied to demonstrate compliance with essential requirements,
  • Conducting the required tests in an accredited laboratory.

Part of the Department is the Telecommunications Equipment Testing Laboratory (LBUT).
