Poland in Nigeria

On 13-15.08 this year, a delegation of representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Abuja to Kano took place.  M. Klósak (First Secretary) and P. Zając (Third Secretary) held a meeting with the authorities of the Maryam Abacha American University (MAAUN). The meeting was attended by numerous representatives of the MAAUN management, in particular the Founder of MAAUN, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, and the Vice-chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Israr. Currently, Dr. Sabina Brakoniecka from the Department of African Languages and Cultures at the University of Warsaw works as an “honorary assistant professor” at the MAAUN.

The second university visited in Kano was Bayero University (BUK) – the meeting with the participation of, i.a. the outgoing Vice-chancellor Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas and the new Vice-chancellor Prof. Haruna Musa, as well as the Deputy Vice-chancellor Prof. Aliyu Mu’azu concerned the possibility of expanding the cooperation of BUK with Polish universities. It is worth noting that BUK has been cooperating with the University of Warsaw for over a decade
