    At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski, the Council of the Baltic Sea States top diplomats gathered in Sopot on 28 and 29 May to take part in the 23rd Ministerial Council of the CBSS. The ministers signed the Sopot Declaration on security in the Baltic Sea region and support for Ukraine.

The laureates included Jerzy Buzek, former Prime Minister of Poland and former President of the European Parliament, and Lech Wałęsa, former President of Poland and leader of the Solidarity movement.

    On the 22nd anniversary of Poland's accession to the European Union, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summarised the economic and social effects of Poland's membership of the European Union. The summary shows, beyond doubt, that Poland has achieved economic success within the EU, and making the most of the opportunities afforded by EU membership has largely contributed to this success. Since joining the EU, our country has caught up with many developed economies and has become a driving force of the Union's growth.

It is one of the key events for Poland's diplomatic cooperation with Asia-Pacific countries. In his opening speech, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski emphasised the growing importance of the relations between Poland, the EU, and ASEAN in the face of global security and economic challenges.

    Undersecretary of State Henryka Mościcka-Dendys presented French Ambassador Étienne de Poncins with the instrument of ratification of the Treaty for Enhanced Cooperation and Friendship between the Republic of Poland and the French Republic. The document confirms that our country has completed all ratification procedures and is now eventually bound by the Treaty.
