Poland. Business Harbour – the Polish Government’s programme supporting Belarusian entrepreneurs from the ICT sector

For over 30 years, Poland has been building a democratic, free-market economic haven for ambitious and enterprising people. As the 6th largest economy in the European Union and a country that has recorded an almost 9-fold economic growth since 1990, we know how to support entrepreneurship and fuel the economy with the diversity of talents. Today, as a safe, business haven, Poland wants to share its success with Belarusians by inaugurating the Poland. Business Harbor Program. Behind that name hides a complementary set of tools and services facilitating the success of Belarusians in Poland, based on knowledge, modern standards and close trade relationships with neighbors and the world.

It is crucial to help those who want to develop themselves, including the young Belarusian entrepreneurs. Extending a welcoming hand to the Belarusians is also, now more than ever, our moral duty – said Jadwiga Emilewicz, Deputy Prime Minister

The Poland. Business Harbour program is a comprehensive package helping IT professionals, start-ups, SMEs and large companies to relocate seamlessly to the territory of the Republic of Poland. The program is coordinated by the Ministry of Development and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, in cooperation with GovTech Polska in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development and the Startup Hub Poland foundation.

Thanks to the package,  you will be able to find out, how to quickly and efficiently register a business in Poland, obtain support in the relocation of employees and their families, or receive legal and visa assistance from a business concierge. In addition, the Program will facilitate contact between individuals and companies from Belarus and local governments or Special Economic Zones, which have actively participated in the preparation of an offer for relocated employees and their families, creating temporary office and residential space. One of the elements of the package is also support in the form of connecting entrepreneurs with investors and grants for R&D activity.

Security, the potential for development backed by a stable economy and reliable partners - Belarusian entrepreneurs will find – all of those in Poland. The Polish Investment and Trade Agency will ensure they have a smooth landing, chiefly by providing them with information and coordinating the relocation process, but of course also through advising and consulting.  – said Grażyna Ciurzyńska, President of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency

Individuals with an engineering degree or experience in the IT industry will be able to take advantage of the fast-tracked visa procedure. In addition, several dozen technology companies from all across Poland have prepared special job offers for the incoming Belarusian workers. The catalogue of companies remains open - we invite IT companies wishing to join the program to fill out the questionnaire. Software Development Association Poland (SODA) and the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications (PIIT) participate in the project.

Special thanks go to the Polish technology companies, which bring traditional Polish hospitality to the digital world. Such a strong response is pleasing not just because it shows that Polish companies will always support those in need, but also because while doing so, they also support the Polish economy. said Justyna Orłowska, Prime Minister’s High Representative for Government Technology

For the purpose of the Program, a special hotline was created, available 24 hours a day and five days a week
