Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU - summary

Concluding Poland's six-month presidency of the Council of the European Union, we present the most important events in which the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Riyadh participated during this time:
- The first meeting of the heads of EU diplomatic missions in Riyadh within the framework of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union was held on January 24. During the meeting, the ambassador presented the priorities of the Polish presidency. The ambassadors also had the opportunity to exchange views with their guest, Dr. Abdullah Alhokail, chairman of the Saudi Center for Opinion Polling.
- February 10 saw a concert by pianist Wojciech Waleczek entitled “Poland in Europe”, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Riyadh, the theme of which was classical music of European Union member states with a special emphasis on works by Polish composers.
- A meeting of heads of missions of EU member states was held at the Ambassador's residence on February 25, ending with a working lunch with the participation of the guest of honor, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Waleed Al-Khureiji.
- Reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Third of May. During a reception held at the Ambassador's residence on April 30 to mark the national holiday, the priorities of the Polish presidency were highlighted, primarily in the context of the war in Ukraine and the priority for strategic security issues in Europe, which was one of the basic tenets of the presidency. The guest of honor at the reception was the deputy governor of Riyadh province, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, brother of the heir to the throne and prime minister of KAS, Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud.
- Working lunch for deputy heads of missions of EU member states held at the Ambassador's residence on June 24. Head of the political and economic section Paweł Mączka presented the achievements of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU and wished good luck to the Danish partners who are taking over the Presidency beginning from July 1.
- On June 25, also at the Ambassador's residence, a working luncheon for heads of missions of EU member states was held, providing an opportunity to present the achievements of the Polish presidency to HoMs. Deputy Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sara Al Sayed was the guest of honor at the meeting.
- The inauguration of the second direct flight to Poland (Kraków), operated by the Saudi airline Flynas, took place on June 27 following active efforts by the Embassy.
