In response to the tense security situation in the Middle East, Polish consular services carried out actions aimed at ensuring the safe return of Polish citizens to the country. Diplomatic missions of the Republic of Poland across the region were involved in the operation, including the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Riyadh, which actively supported evacuation efforts involving Polish citizens staying, among others, in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain.
Embassy staff and the Consul of the Republic of Poland remained present in the region, supporting the organization of transport and coordinating activities related to the departure of Polish citizens. As part of the ongoing operations, successive groups of Polish nationals left the region on specially organized evacuation flights operated by government aircraft, as well as aircraft chartered from LOT Polish Airlines specifically for this purpose. The return operations were carried out in several stages, including on 5, 7, 9 and 11 March, and a total of ten aircraft were used for the transport. These efforts were the result of close cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Polish diplomatic missions in the region, services responsible for organizing transport, and international partners.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, thanks to the evacuation operations carried out, approximately one thousand Polish citizens from the Gulf countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Saudi Arabia, have already returned to Poland.
The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Riyadh remains in constant contact with Polish citizens staying in the region and continues to monitor developments closely while providing the necessary consular support.
